Guest guest
AUM SAI RAM Dear Devotees, Our Beautiful Lord Shiva-Shakti loves us all equally though some may think that He favours this devotee or that devotee but He does not - He favours all His Devotees, without exception, with Pure and Perfect Love. His Love is nectar madhurya (Divine Sweetness). This Shivratri, I wish to share with you the story of Mother Parvati, also known as Shakti, the source of Divine Energy and Mother Ganga. Mother Parvati is the consort of Lord Shiva (also known as Shankar, Bholenath, Maheswara and Rudra). Mother Ganga is the embodiment of the Ganges- the Ganga, the Jamuna and the Prayag. At the times when the Planet Earth was still unpolluted and pure, the Gods were visiting the Earth very often in their astral plane. One day, Bhagawan Shiv learnt that Mother Ganga, who was known for her outbursts of terrific anger, was threatening to drown the Earth with the water of the Ganges. Moved by compassion, Bhagawan Shiv ran to the rescue of the Earth to save all the living species. In His overwhelming purity, to stop the uncontrollable wrath of Mother Ganga and to prevent the catastrophe, Lord Shiv untied His long, matted hair; He spread His hair like a fishing net and in one go- vroom! He caught the river Ganges in His hair! Satisfied with His exploit, Bholenath attached Ganga tightly in a bun on top of His head to prevent her from escaping and from flooding the Earth. When He returned home to the Himalayas, where He had elected domicile on Earth, His wife Parvati Devi was petrified to see Ganga cutely nestled on the head of Her Lord. She, like all normal women ( Goddess or non Goddess, mind you , all women are alike ) grew so jealous, so very jealous that she turned her back on her Bholenath and vouched that she would never look at Him nor talk to Him again for the rest of her life. Lord Narad Muni, who is none other than Bhagawan Vishnu Himself in human form and who is always keeping Himself informed about everybody and everything, appeared on the scene. " Narayan! Narayan! Maata" He said, addressing Parvati Devi "Why are you pouting? What is troubling you? " Parvati told him the reason of her grief. " Maata " said the Omniscient Lord Narad, " Ganga Devi is sitting on the head of your husband because this is the only way the Lord can control her. May I remind you, Mateshaweri that Lord Shiva has no lust. Narayan! Narayan! He is Bholenath- Innocent and Pure", Lord Narad continued "You are the only woman who lives in His heart! You are His only Love! Narayan! Narayan! " The wise words of Lord Narad relieved the broken heart of Shakti and she ran into the arms of Bhagawan Shiv praying for forgiveness. Shiva Shakti was, hence, reunited. Bhagawan Shiv Shankar is immensely powerful but He has no lust. He may even be naked and His wife Parvati too may be naked, sitting on His lap but they have no lustful desires. ShivaShakti is the symbol of Perfect Love. In this Yuga the symbol of Perfect Love, the Shiva Shakti tatva (the Supreme Truth) is incarnated by Our Sweet Lord Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Happy Shivratri to All! May Bhagawan SaiShivashankara Grant Us Madhurya and Perfect Love! At the Lotus Feet of Sai Anita
