Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta Sree GuruBhyo Namaha Well pleased with the humble request of the other saints,Suta the saint of lore spoke thus: " Kailasa shikare ramye Bhaktaa-nugraha tatparam Pranamya Parvati bhaktya Sankaram pariprucchati " " Oh great saints. On the beautiful peak of Kailas bowing down in all devotion before Lord Shankar (Lord Shiva),who is ever gracious to His devotees,Parvati humbly asks Him thus : (It might be questioned why all this without coming straight to the Guru Gita itself. The great saint Suta Maharishi, according to Sri Swamiji,is meditating upon the tradition of Guru for this great spell of Guru Gita before hand, thereby praying to the Guru. By speaking about the wonderful origin of the Guru Gita,it is also indicated how wonderful supreme it is by itself. As Lord Hayagriva was initiated by the Supreme Goddess into Sri Vidya,so also Parvati Devi, the Mother Goddess, was initiated by Lord Shankar into the way (tradition) of the Guru.) Editors Note: Sri Swamiji recited the sloka with the substitution of --- Datta-Anugraha Tatparam -- meaning that Lord Shiva intended to grace His devotees in the form of Lord Dattatreya. Verse # 3 Namaste Deva-devesha paraat-para jagadguro SadaShiva Mahadeva Gurudiksam prayaccha me (me is pronounced as May) Oh God of Gods,Oh Lord of Lords,Oh Isha (the Supreme Commander).Paratpara (beyond the outermost) Oh Teacher of the entire Universe, the entire Humanity. Oh Sada Shiva (ever auspicious),the Supreme Lord.I bow before you. PLEASE grant me GURU DEEKSHA or the Discipline of the GURU. (comment:this posting co-incides very beautifully by the Grace of Pujya Swamiji with Guru Purnima observance next Tuesday 7th.On the eve of this event, the pleaof Mother Goddess should be the yearning of a devotee to Sadguru) Sri Guru Datta
