Guest guest
Namaskar Michael, yes I understand what you mean perfectly. The blackened beads are also natural ocurring as time goes with maintenance, oiling and interaction with our body chemicals when we wear them. There is nothing to be concerned about. I call them " mellow beads " as in mellow wine is the best wine (just a figure of speech). Personally I have several of the blackened beads -- the energies and lustre remain the same. When I first got them, they were sort of brown-yellow-beige. Would also like to say this : Rudraksha 'grows' with us as we journey along our spiritual evolution on different levels. Sometimes this is an indication of the change of color to dark. From personal experimentation and experience through over 2 decades of using and worshipping rudraksha, the symbolism of colors changing can potentially mark signposts in our lives, i.e. if we observe things closely. I'm sure many friends here would have similar experiences but maybe not realize them due to being very busy with today's pressures and demands that prevent much prayer, reflective and meditative time. Just my 2 cents' worth of a rumination: ----- What I'd been taught traditionally is that dark means light - its 'One and the Same'. Through darkness, there is always light at the end of the tunnel no matter how long it takes to come. When the day is done, night comes and vice versa. This is the cycle of Nature, the Universe/Cosmos. In realizing this, inner harmony manifests thus. Encouraging you to treasure your blackened beads as you would do all the others. If you don't want to wear them, they can be placed on the altar for workship. The energies of naturally blackened beads can sometimes be more intense and literally pulsate when worshipped with bhakti.
