Guest guest
Namaste Nikhil, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Maybe I'm missing something so I would appreciate if you can point out the exact passage or paragraph where you read that " One who wears rudraksha without mantra will go to hell " . You see, all I could find was : 'Only by great merits can the opportunity to wear the rudraksha be obtained. If he misses it, he will go to hell.' Going by the above paragraph, it is only through Punya or past life samskaras or even rnanubandhana with Lord Shiva that we are able to discover and wear rudraksha in this life. The interpretation continues as follows : When those who are presented with the opportunity to wear rudraksha (such as by way of a gift and turns it down) he will go to hell. Of course this is going by the Vidyeshvarasamhita. As you and I know, Scriptures were written at different periods and transliterated by different seers or people who all have varying inputs. Its most important for the individual to read, analyze and form their own conclusions as to which to follow for their own spiritual guidance and evolvement. My 2 dimes' worth : Most folks who wear rudraksha or use sacred items would at some point or other, usually recite mantras. They may discontinue for a while but would later resume. Bhakti is most important. As long as we have God in our hearts even when we are unable to recite mantras, we are blessed by His/Her Darshan. This means even when not chanting mantras with wearing rudraksha, we won't go to hell. Of course I would encourage all our friends to find time " to be One with God, go within and connect with God " , and what better way than to chant mantras or God's Names. Hope this makes sense Aum Namah Shivaya , Nikhil V <nikhil_v23 wrote: > > Dear Narasimhaye, > > > It is seen from your posting on Vidyeshvarasamhita > below that one who wears rudraksha without mantra will > go to hell. > > This statement in Vidyeshvarasamhita contradicts Devi > Bhagavatam and some other scriptures which have been > quoted in this group from time to time. > > I'd like to know your opinion on this. > > Nikhil >
