He got a job in Calcutta. He got married. He was worried because Calcutta was far away from his

hometown. He however went with his wife to live there as he did not have any other choice. He lived there in a flat on the 8Th or 9Th floor and was happy with his job.He was employed as an accountant in a company but soon he lost his job. He was discharged off his duty for the missing of office funds. He was very upset as he had acquired a bad name early in his career. Hence he wrote a letter to his wife: "Don't think of me any more" and left the house. The poor wife had no one to console her, or help to find out where he had gone. She telephoned his mother, The mother was a devotee of Sai Baba but her son was not. He often commented on Swami. The mother wrote a letter to Swami, as that was the only thing she knew and could do. She was a a poor old lady and could not go to the post office. So she put the letter below the photo of Swami in her house and prayed for her son's life.Meanwhile the young man, Arvind by

name wandered about wanting to commit suicide. But suicide was not that easy. One had to search for some river or a deep well and escape from friends and possible saviors!According to the law if he was to survive his attempt of suicide he will be punished. So he came early morning and was about to jump into the Ganges when some one shouted in his ear, "Don't jumpDon't jump" Don't die, come to Puttaparthi. The only thing this young man could do was to jump into the Ganges from the Howrah Bridge and drown himself. So he came early morning and was about to jump into the Ganges when some one shouted in his ear, "Don't jumpDon't jump" Don't die, come to Puttaparthi." He could not resist because voice was hitting sharply against his ear.Not being able to go against the instructions that fell into his ears he went to the railway station nearby and purchased a ticket to Bangalore. He told later, that he could not sleep in the train and

could not think of anything except Puttaparthi. He said when the wheels of train were moving he could hear "Puttaparthi! Puttaparthi! And when the train moved slowly it sounded as Putta-parthi, Putta-parthi! .He reached Bangalore, and he wanted to purchase a ticket to Penukonda. But the clerk at the counter asked whether he was going to see Swami. He added "Then to go to Puttaparthi to see Swami, but your Baba is here in Whitefield!"But , it was Puttaparthi which was resounding in his ear all through. So he said "I want to do to Puttaparthi, please give me a ticket to Penukonda." He reached Penukonda, and from there proceeded to Puttaparthi. Swami who was in Whitefield, suddenly arrived in Puttaparthi on the same day at 6.30 in the evening. Kutumba Rao and others ran up to him. They asked Swami why he had come

without information.Swami said "No...I have come to take a few bags of rice to Bangalore for the summer course!" Prof Kasturi and others were surprised as to why Swami Himself would have to come to take a few bags of rice? He could have sent someone or even a phone call would have been enough. All were wondering about His sudden arrival and thought that there must be some reason behind it. Next morning Arvind waited in the queue for Swami's Darshan. Swami who came near him said "Yeah! Calcutta Next morning Arvind waited in the queue for Swami's Darshan. Swami who came near him said "Yeah! Calcutta" and asked him to go into the interview room and chided him there. "What a foolish thing you have done? Do you know the feeling of your mother and wife? I will see that nothing happens to you. I will also see that you are transferred. You need not go back to Calcutta. There is a branch office of your company

in Madras and I will see you are transferred to Madras so that you will be nearer to your place."Swami then told him that He would have to go to Whitefield and asked him to stay here for nine days. Why nine days ? Swami had other plans! Arvind was left with very little money which would run out in about two days. As he had to stay for nine days, he wanted some money. So he sent a telegram to his friend in Delhi, asking him to send some money, giving the address as "Arvind, Big Shed, Prashanti Nilayam."Arvind's friend in Delhi who received his telegram for money, immediately informed his mother that he was in Puttaparthi in the Big shed. The anxious and grief stricken mother and wife rushed to Puttaparthi within those nine days.It was actually Swami's strategy of informing his mother and wife. They were very happy to see him there. Prof Kasturi heard the whole story from Arvind's mother and wife. The message of a prayer to Him in any language,

or of a letter kept anywhere would reach Him as he is everywhere. He is omnipresent! http://living.oneindia.in/yoga-spirituality/spiritual-experiences/voice-in-ear.html Ram ChuganiKobe, Japanrgcjp
