AUM SAI RAM

''Bhava Advaitham' is 'Oneness with the

Lord'' says Bhagawan Baba. He illustrates this feeling of Oneness by citing the

example of Lord Krsna and the 'gopikas'.

On a Christmas Day, He gave us another example of bhava advaitham - 'Jesus contemplated so much on Moses that He

began to look physically like Moses Himself'.

It is also said in the Vedas -'You contemplate

on the Brahman, you become Brahman yourself'.

Many times,

we recall the incidents where we had mislaid something valuable or where we had

found ourselves in an awkward situation. When all seemed to have been

completely lost, Baba had, in the guise of another person, turned up to help us.

On meeting Baba, He would then tell us-'Yes, I came to your rescue on such and

such day!'

I always

thought, wrongly of course, that Baba would, on these occasions, come

physically but disguised as another person. Until one day, I grasped the

meaning of 'Bhava Advaitham'. The

person who comes to rescue another in a moment of distress is God Himself! He

has become One with God…hence he behaves like God.

It happened

at Heathrow Airport. I was waiting at the luggage

belt of the arrival lounge to collect my suitcase. My treating consultant had

advised me not to lift or carry heavy luggage. I was suffering from acute

rheumatoid arthritis in the left shoulder. To avoid carrying my laptop in a bag

with a strap, I had kept it in my pink Samsonite. In all, I had a meagre16 kgs.

However, the twelve hours flight from Mauritius had consequential bearings

on my shoulder. I was in atrocious pain. Not only the shoulder, but the whole

arm and the hand were sore. I pushed my trolley beyond the yellow stop line. I

prayed to Baba to come to my help. I spotted one gentleman in a cowboy hat

waiting patiently behind me. I thought he looked like an American. In no time,

other passengers came and forced their way in front of me. I could see my

suitcase coming up slowly on the crawling belt. I cried out 'Excuse me!' as I cut

my way to the front again. I tried to get hold of the side handle of my

suitcase to pull it from the belt. From behind my back, I heard -'Let me help

you, dear!' In a jolt, my suitcase had landed on the trolley. 'Thank you!

Thanks loads!' I muttered in gratitude to the American looking gentleman. In my

heart, I added- 'You are God! You are Sai Baba!'

What a

living example of Bhava Advaitham!

Jai Sai Ram!
