Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta Shri GuruBhyo Namaha last week: Ananyaas--shcintayanto ye dhruvam tesaam parampadam Tasmaat prayat-nena Guror-aaraadhanam kuru Guru should be worshipped and served with all efforts. He sees all those things done behind Him. All that you have to do is serve Him,think of Him, and worship Him with no other thought but with care. this week; " Guror-mukhaa-cca sampraapya Devi Brahmaatma samvidam Trailokya sphuta vaktaaro devarisi pitru maana-vaha " Those who attain the knowledge of Parabrahma through the Grace of Guru, whether they be gods, saints, manes (guardian spirits of ancestors) or humans are the unparalleled ones in all the three worlds.Such of them become Gurus themselves. Sri Swamiji directs us to chant the spell of Guru. The highest stage of this chanting is installing the meaning and imbibing the feeling of the letters of the spell. In the following five hymns He explains the meaning of the word GURU. " Gukaaras-shcaandha-karohi rukaara-steja uchyate Ajnaana graasakam Brahma Gurureva na samshayaha " GU stands for darkness and RU for light.Undoubtedly Guru is one who swallows ignorance and He is Parabrahma himself by such an act. " Gukaaras-shcaandha-kaarastu rukaaras-tanni-rodhakaha Andha-kaara vinaa-shitvaat Guru-itya-bhidhiyate " GU is darkness;RU is that which drives it away.As He drives away the darkness, He is called Guru.In the above lines it has been said twice about darkness. Why? Darkness also means Sin. A true Sadguru thinks much about the Sin of his disciple, because it diminishes as he goes on thinking about it. He (the Guru) has that power. He doesn' think about his disciple's virtue, nor appreciate it in him.If He does, that virtue diminishes.People ignorant of this clue mistakenly think that their Guru doesn't like their acts. It is an illusion and wrong to think so. If the Guru doesn't take what we offer it is bad for us;and if he admires what is offered to him, it is also bad for us equally. Sri Guru Datta P.S : A Happy Christmas and New Year 2010 to everyone.
