Guest guest
jai sai ram If you start to feel unhappy or depressed, try to counter that by thinking of all the things that make you happy. This could be eating your favourite meal, watching your favourite TV programmes or spending time with family. This can help you think less about things that make you feel unhappy. Try and do these things, even if you don't feel like it. Try and think of all the positive things in your life. Think about things that you have achieved. Things that will help you believe in yourself and your ability to overcome any bad feelings. Try and distract yourself. Get creative with drawing or painting, or chill out with your favourite DVD or CD. Try and keep active, so that your mind doesn't dwell on things. Exercise is a great way of relieving stress and tension. Maybe go for a long walk or go swimming. You could also take up after school activities. These will keep you busy, and also allow you to meet new people if you are feeling sad or lonely. Just as important as keeping active, is getting plenty of rest too. One reason why you may be feeling unhappy or depressed is because you're having trouble sleeping. There are things you can do to improve your sleep patterns such as going to bed and getting up at regular times and drink lots of water throughout the day so that the body feels refreshed rather than sluggish. If you're feeling unhappy or depressed, and you just can't shake away that feeling, write down your thoughts and emotions. This can help you pinpoint why you are feeling unhappy or depressed, and it can help you plan how to solve your problems by breaking them down into small things you can do. Also, don't feel that you need to keep your problems to yourself. You will feel better if you share your worries with someone you trust. Recognise and avoid doing things that in the end only make you feel worse – picking arguments with friends and family, drinking alcohol, taking drugs, over-eating, self-harming. These things may provide a temporary release, but they will not help you overcome feelings of loneliness or depression. If you are feeling unhappy or depressed, try talking about your feelings to your parents or a friend that you can trust. You can also speak to your school nurse, doctor or counsellor. It helps having something written down so that you can express your feelings clearly. If you feel there is no-one you can turn to, talk to SHIRDISAIBABA as he is always here to listen to your problems jai sai ram Nimmi hira /forum
