Guest guest
Why did Sai refer to the Masjid, sometimes as Masjid Mayee and sometimes as Dwarka Mayee? What does Dwarkamayee signify? Dwaraka was the capital of Lord Krishna. It was also called ‘Dwarawati’. Lord Krishna created Dwaraka (presently in Gujarat) for the final habitation of the Yadava family (His clan) and security from attackers like Jarasandha and others. Like a mother protecting a child, Dwaraka, protected the Yadavas. Baba has given the same concept to the dilapidated mosque where He stayed for over 60 years. He gave love, protection and solution to the problems of His devotees. Baba has been quoted saying in “Shri Sai Satcharitra†that Dwarakamayee protects its children i.e. His devotees. The word ‘Mayee’ in Hindi means mother.
