Guest guest
On Wednesday,July 22nd is Complete Surya Grahanam or Complete Solar Eclipse which is a very rare occurance. Even though the Sun is not comletely (100%) covered but almost, hence the name complete. The path of a total eclipse can cross any part of Earth.. Even the North and South Poles get a total eclipse sooner or later. Just one total eclipse occurs each year or two. Since each total eclipse is only visible from a very narrow track, it is rare to see one from any single location. You'd have to wait an average of 375 years to see two total eclipses from one place. Of course, the interval between seeing two eclipses from one particular place can be shorter or longer. For instance, the last total eclipse visible from Princeton, New Jersey in the USA was in 1478 and the next is in 2079. That's an interval of 601 years. However, the following total eclipse from Princeton is in 2144, after a period of only 65 years. The total phase of a solar eclipse is very brief. It rarely lasts more than several minutes. It will be about 8 minutes tomorrow morning not seen everywhere but only a few places around the globe. Nevertheless it is considered to be one of the most awe inspiring spectacles in the Nature. The sky takes on eerie twilight as the Sun's bright face is replaced by the by the black disk of Moon. Surrounding the Moon is beautiful gossemer halo. This is the Sun's spectacular Solar Corona, a super heated plasma two million degrees in temperature!!! The corona can be seen during the few minutes of totality. To witness such an event is singularly most memorable experience which cannot be coved with any amount of any language and I am sure only a selected few will be fortunate to witness this marvel around the globe! The exact time of the Eclipse tommorow is from about 5.28 AM IST and might last upto 7.21 AM .This time between the start & finish of this total eclipse is supposed to be very auspicious dtime during which we are not supposed to sleep but spent with Prayers and Pujas thinking about the Divine Lord. Each and every Temple in India however big or small they might be are closed and their Dwarams shut, Except the SRI KALAHASTHI TEMPLE in ANDHRA PRADESH which has absolutely no effect of any Eclipse either Sun or Moon.
