9th AUGUST 2009

Om Sri Sairam dearest Sai FamilyPuttaparthi is bit crowded now a days and the crowd is going to be in much more big numbers on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmastami and Vinayaka Chavithi which are coming this weekend. The Sai Kulwanth hall was filling up by 3pm. All the groups were allotted their own seats and the UK Sai Youth who were carrying their instruments literally everyday to Sai Kulwanth hall, hoping that Swami would call them any moment, were asked to sit in their normal places. Every body in the group were thinking if they are allowed to sit right infront the dais then they know that they are definitely having the programme.Today being Sunday, Swami’s primary school kids were also present and the whole area around the dais was jam packed. At 4:30 pm, as Swami says, Love My uncertainty, the Sai brothers and sisters of the UK, who were all sure that the programme won’t happen today, were

asked to sit right infront of the dais. The students were asked to make place for the 180 blessed brothers and sisters. In no time every one ran to get their instruments and the stage was all set for the programme. Because of the possibility of the programme, the bhajans didn’t start at 5pm.. Every one were eagerly awaiting our beloved Lord’s arrival. All eyes glued towards the path way from where Swami enters. It was 5:30pm no trace of Swami’s arrival, 6pm still no good news, at 6:15pm every one by Swami’s residence are alert and in no time our beloved Lord, entered in Sai Kulwanth Hall in His mobile throne filling all our hearts with immense joy and in particular the Sai Youth from the Sai Kingdom (SK) as they like to be called, were thrilled. Every inch the mobile throne moved towards them, their hearts starting beating faster and for many of them it was a first of its kind experience and apparently they have been practicing this bouquet of

songs for Swami for almost a year now.

Swami took a full round in the Sai Kulwanth hall. Now a days, two sevadals walk on either side of Swami with a bag to collect letters from devotees. Swami after finishing His darshan round, came directly on to the dais. He gave a beautiful smile looking at the Sai Youth and Brother Puppet went upto Swami and explained the programme they had in offering to Him. After about two minutes Swami looked at the Veda chanting boys signaling them to stop the chanting. Swami then looked at the UK boys for the programme to start.

Swami seemed to be very anxious to know as what they had for today. Two boys went upto Swami to offer Him a rose and as the theme for the group given by Swami was MBA (Mind Body & Atma) a symbolic blue colored graduation cap was offered to Swami which also had a letter of thanks giving to Swami for this rare opportunity.Swami then signaled for the programme to start. The programme had an amazing take off with the song Brahmanandam Param Sukhadam kevalam Gnana Moorthim… the next song was a telugu song, Divilo nundi Bhuvinala rinchina Sai vandanam (Prostrations to Sai who has come from heavens to the earth) Sakala lokamula saaradhivaina Sai Vandanam (Vandanams to the Sai who is the ruler of all Lokas). It was a pure telugu song but the way they sang the song was really amazing. There was no trace of British accent and if any one closes their eyes and hears it sounded as if telugu speaking

devotees were singing the song. Swami was very touched when the brothers and sisters sang, Kalilo Kallala Mabbulato (this kali age which is like a dark dream) Teerani Korkela Payanamuto (when the journey is full of unfulfilled desires) Ninneno Ne Sai Marachina Prati Sai (O Sai each time when I forget you) Kalanaina Sai Nannu Cheyaku Dooramu (O Sai, please don’t distance me even in my wildest dreams) to which Swami shook His head as if saying No I won’t leave you…

The whole song was sung with utmost devotion and Iam sure it would have taken months for the UK tongues to sing those telugu lines. The highlight of the musical presentation was the sitar played from the sisters side. Swami was seen immersed in the beautiful sitar jugal bandi with closed eyes.. and at one stage when the sitar notes went so high Swami opened His eyes and gazed at the fortunate artists and gave a beautiful smile as if saying that is amazing.. I like it so much... what more can any one ask for than an appreciation from the Lord of the Lords Himself... The whole conversation was from Heart to heart, the language of the Heart as Swami says…

The programme also had Madhurashtakam, a Qawali by sisters, the song Fear not, for Iam with you from the old testament of the Bible. Sister Deepa a professional singer had a solo alap in this song which was just Divine. The alap took many of us into a different world..

The last song of the programme was the theme song MBA written by the group members..Iam on a journey I call MBA, Mind Body Atma – Yes, Iam finding my way which was before preceded by a heart touching hindi number Hum Tere Hain Sai... Hum Tere Hain (O Sai we are Yours)..After the programme brother Puppet who was sitting right next to the Lotus Feet of our beloved Lord, watching Swami’s emotions went upto Swami and said, Swami this is what we had in offering to You. Swami then asked the UK boys to sing bhajans and every one were very happy when they got this rare opportunity and sang three bhajans after which Swami asked for arathi and it was 7:20pm by then. After arathi, usually Swami prefers to leave, but today He stayed for more than 2 minutes smiling at the UK youth, appreciating their performance, He said in hindi, Swami Bahut Khush hain ( Swami is very happy) and raised both His hands to bless

those

fortunate souls who came all the way from the UK. The ecstasy of the UK group knew no bounds and it was a day they all were waiting for and it was those wonderful momentous moments for which their souls might have been waiting for hundreds of births. This humble gesture from Swami brought tears even to those devotees from the audience…

The unique thing about the UK group that makes them stand apart from others visiting Prasanthi and which Swami is very fond of, is the discipline. Every member of the group do nothing but concentrate only on Swami. There is not an extra moment except for personal issues, that they spend their time in their rooms. They always assemble in the meeting hall. They carry their own instruments, sound system altars etc and every thing is well planned that not even a minute of their stay is not wasted.

Even though it may not sound good but, probably this is how every Sai group coming to Parthi should follow. Think of Swami, sing His glory, earn His grace rather than thinking of shopping, socializing and so on. Swami is always watching us where ever you are in the world and when you are in His Abode then definitely you are under His scanner.

Today the 9th of August 2009 was a beautiful day a day which will be remembered for ever courtesy to Swami... and His humble instruments from the UK for a mesmerising musical experience..With humble pranams at the lotus feet of our beloved Lord,R. Satish Naik
