The list will be moderated. The aims are to portray the best of spiritual teachings from the lives of Sri Ramakrishna and other spiritual giants of our times. We will develop certain themes for discussions. We welcome any suggestions and contributions on suitable spiritual topics which can benefit all the participants . > Suggestions and contributions to the list to be sent to: - > ramakrishna > We humbly pray that this list will help awaken spirituality in all sincere seekers. > Om namah Sri Ramakrishnaye. > First topic: 'Sri Ramkrishna on Kalpataru day' > Today is 1st of January. Devotees of Sri Ramakrishna call this the Kalpataru day - the day the wishes of devotees were granted by the God-man of our age. This is also the day when for the first time one gets a real idea of what this 'Ramakrishna' is. For almost all his life he had kept himself hidden. On this special day he discarded his outer covering. The covering which portrayed him as a humble priest - a humble devotee of the mother goddess. For the first time He showed his true majesty. In my humble opinion, all Gods and Goddesses of the Hindus pale in significance compared to the majesty of this being. What good are all these Gods and Goddess to me? They appear so far off ! Here is a God-man of today - he talks in the language we understand - he guides us towards spirituality using contemporary methods. For the first time we have at hand a God-man whose actual words have been recorded - whose actual photographs can be seen.
