Guest guest
Dear Brothers and Sisters, Sri Ramakrishna's practise of celibacy is something to respect. He extended his celibacy to the mind aswell as the body - Thought, word and deed. You name it, he's done it. This celibacy of the mind in practise however, may not be that easy in this day and age. As a university student of English Literature over the years I have found myself in the dilema of reading compulsory course texts which have far from celibate themes. I have had to cover the writings of homosexual writers and so on. I can not help but feel that in reading and writing essays on ideas opposing celibacy that I am being robbed of my chance of a celibate mind. If we are realistic then I have to say that absolute celibacy is almost impossible for anyone living in this society. What we aim at and what we get are two different things. Renounce everything to God , Good and Bad. Just give God all your thoughts and be done with it. I said something similar when I failed one of my exams. Yours sincerely DAKSHA.
