Dear Sunil,

 

Thank you so much for your e-mail this morning. It is a reality-based

message you have given us, just as Swamiji would have done. It is important

to honor ourselves and where we are, not denegrating any aspect of ourselves,

but to see God in All of His creation which includes the positive AND the

negative. There is no place where God is not. There are two sides to every

aspect of our nature. As Swamiji said, " You can never CHANGE the balance of

good and evil in the world " , (paraphrase) and that applies to human nature.

To resist any part of ourselves gives that aspect more power. But to

acknowledge ALL of ouselves and focus on God and His will for us right here

and now, is the way to harmony.

 

Straightforwardness in dealing with others AND ourselves is one of the

highest spiritual qualities. True spirituality has no pretense. It is

direct, honest and based in love of truth. That is one of Swamiji's greatest

qualities...his straightforwardness.
