Guest guest
Brothers and Sisters, I would like to ask everyone a question. If our compassion extends to evil then will evil not flourish at the expense of good? Daksha.

" There is great wisdom in those words which are suggesting that we accept evil as a part of existence; what we resist persists, resistance gives it power. So, just let the thing be, whatever it is, and focus our attention on the good. Evil can never flourish at the expense of good. Swamiji said that we can never change the BALANCE of good and evil in the world. We have no choice but to accept evil; but we do have a choice about where we put our attention. Tho there may be a greater manifestation of say...evil in one place, there will be a greater manifestation of good in another place. To me, it only makes sense if they are equal. Thus being equal, one can never flourish more than the other. Sue

Can be that equality of both provides stability. Our compassion is there because there is evil. One is not totally evil the good in one will appreciate someone's compassion n someone's compassion is which will change evil in to good. Evil needs to see wat is good unless one sees it how will evil change.
Guest guest
The right thing to do is avoid evil!!! One can get emotionally about - I am Brahman or you are Brahman and everybody is Brahman and we love Brahman - but when faced with the challenge when somebody is pointing a gun and asking for your purse - will you show the other cheek? how many will do so?? When one reads the autobiography of Ramakrishna and the Holy Mother, there are many incidents recorded where the Master and Sharda Ma avoids meeting some people because they were evil (Swami Sharadananda recorded the incident where the Master hid because the Marwaris when they came to pay respect to him). How many time did Thakur told his male followers to avoid woman and his female followers to avoid man - not because all woman/man are evil - but because they will be a distraction for spiritual development!! Brothers and Sisters, I would like to ask everyone a question. If our compassion extends to evil then will evil not flourish at the expense of good? Daksha. Do you think you are a teacher? Is that why you make these very negative comments about everyone and everything that is posted on the list? It gives one pause to stop and wonder about you and your authenticity. Teach yourself man! And I suggest that everyone check out Tim's website so that you can see what he REALLY believes about Kashmir Shaivism. If we tell the TRUTH for 12 years running, our word becomes law in the universe. You obviously misrepresent your truth on this list. Your negativity is a turnoff not a stimulus man. The wrong thing to do is either to avoid or to cling to anything. >One can get emotionally about - I am >Brahman or you are Brahman and everybody is Brahman and we love Brahman - Get emotional about it? I don't understand. What is there to get emotional about truth? There is a chair in the corner of the room. Do I get emotional about that fact? I am Brahman. 2 + 2 = 4. There is no reason to get emotional about fact. >but when faced with the challenge when somebody is pointing a gun and >asking for your purse - will you show the other cheek? how many will do >so?? The " purse " is a burden, and if it were mine, I would give it to the thief gratefully. Many less material possessions to be attached to. Maybe this will generate some discussion.
