Guest guest
I am fully aware of the sincere love and devotion that almost all members have for the personalities and / or the principles that this list advocates. Sometimes the sharp exchanges have been a reflection on how severe is our attraction to the subject matter. Some postings show a greater love of the personalities, other postings sometimes show a greater love of the principles. Swami Vivekananda and Sri Ramakrishna have both said - Do not accept my teachings without scrutinising or testing them to the full. Yet this does not mean we have a license to deride every comment presented to the list. Most of the postings have been of a high calibre and show tremendous love and dedication to the personalities and or the principles involved. It is necessary for all of us to preserve a balance in our postings to ensure that our contributions do not become counterproductive. This does not mean that this list should be some sedate backwater affair! There has to be a dialogue - but please bear in mind that the dialogue should be conducted in a manner which 'benefits all list members'. jay Vivekananda Centre London
