Not in Advaita Vedanta. I believe the upper age limit is 30, if I remember correctly. Vedantic monasteries want those whose egos have matured, yet who have NOT become too involved in the world as of yet. A Zen monastery would probably accept me, but I'm not interested enough in the Zen way to become a Zen monk. However, if I could find a Vedantic monastery in the U.S. that would accept me, I would probably renounce worldly life and become a monk. Sannyas O'ham! I have renounced anyway.
