Guest guest
Tom Says: Hello Everyone! Swami Yogeshananda Hari Om! Let no person take offense at the following opinion, which is expressed in genuine sincerity: It is much 'safer' to adopt a guru, that no longer resides in the human body....and especially one, whose teachings have stood the 'test of time'. Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsadeva, Sri Sarada Devi and Sri Swami Vivekananda, fit into the above category. As long as a teacher is resident of the 'earthly plane', there is always a possibility of 'changes' in doctrine or teachings. However, when we are fortunate enough, to have a 163 year-old Guru AND a BOOK, then we can feel safe, in making 'forays' into unknown territory....we always have the WRITTEN WORD to back us up. That is why, at the risk of being repetitious, I tend to take every opportunity of mentioning the debt, that we all owe to Mahendranath Gupta, Swami Nikhilananda and Margaret Woodrow Wilson. It has often been said that " one can get lost in the maze of Hindu beliefs and sects " ....and THAT sad state of affairs, none of us desire: to see any precious soul 'lost', in a complicated system of half-truths. With the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna as our guide, we may be sure of the steps we take through this world. Incidentally, I would like to know what is happening with the petition of the Ramakrishna Mission, to the Government of India, concerning the designation of " non-Hindu minority relgious denomination " , called: " Ramakrishnaism " I am aware that this request was rejected in the " lok Sabha " ;..... however, are there plans to appeal the decision? This is a very interesting turn of events. From what I understand, the RK mission wants to effectively remove 'government meddling', from the various institutions under their direction. They feel that the minority faiths, i.e. Islam, Sikhism, Christianity etc., have more of a 'free hand' in the administration of their organizations...and they want to be classified as such! Actually, all the different branches of 'so-called' Hinduism, should have equal 'hands-off' status. A man cannot serve two masters. Victory to the Guru! Jai Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsadeva!
