Swami Vivekananda used to say that He can write volumes of upanishads from the

sayings of Thakur!

How difficult it looks for us to believe and yet, if we read the Gospel, keeping

His Lotus Feet in our minds and the heart, we will verily happen to find the

truth of Swamiji's words!

In the Gospel, we find Thakur saying, when descending from the plane fo Samadhi,

that 'Om' is far below the State of Samadhi.

According to Vedanta, from the State of Brahman, a spurious offshoot, that is

the the 'I am the Body' idea, arises, not being apart from it. When this

identification is with reference to a limited physical body, it is called the

'Ego'.

From this ego, springs 'Om', the first pulsating vibration, causing the

manifestation of the worlds.

When retracing our steps from waking state to deep sleep, the worlds are

withdrawn from our view first. Next, the 'Om' is withdrawn. Only afterwards,

the ego is withdrawn into its causal state. And vice versa, when waking from

deep sleep.

How simply Thakur has stated effortlessly!

What we may not happen to find or what we may happen to find only with great

difficulty, from wading through verbose commentaries on Upanishads, we find it

floating on the surface in the Gospel, begging, as it were, to be taken by us!

Our ego asserts that if something is simple and straightforward, it cannot be

true or even if by chance it has accepted it as the truth, it asserts that it is

still not the final truth. Fie upon its pursuit of truth!
