Hi,

It would be nice if the size of the digest mails are less

than 30Kb.If the size exceeds 30Kb it can be sent in two parts.

It is difficult to read a long mail in one sitting.

Sometimes when a person comments on a portion of a previous mail

the relevant passage finds a place. If two or three people

comment on it, the portion being commented upon is repeated twice or

thrice in the same digest. This repitition can be avoided.

Suppose I am sending a short story to onelist. The moderator

can include it in the digest and he can give a reference number

to my story.Suppose my story titled " XYZ " finds a place in digest number

155 the reference number may be " Sriram -XYZ - 155 " .

(the reference number has three parts - author,title/subject,digest

number " ).

This reference number can be quoted in future mails if anybody

wants to comment on it.If someone wants to comment on specific lines

then it is better only those lines instead of the whole passage are

reproduced.

This is a suggestion.Other members of onelist may give their

opinion to this suggestion.

Re: [ramakrishna] Digest Number 154

I agree to friend Sriram's suggestion that replies be sent with a reference

number. This cuts space and also makes reading easier. Sometimes, the same

messages appear so many times in different mails. This makes storing more

difficult.
