Guest guest
Dear friends, Please find below wonderful association and discussion between Sri Ramakrishna and his treating doctor. This is the concluding part. (DR. C. S. SHAH) -------------------- Sri Ramakrishna and Dr. Mahendra Lal Sarkar Part 4 Mention must be made about two other doctors who treated Sri Ramakrishna, namely Dr. Rakhal and Dr. Bhagavan Rudra. In their brief encounter with Sri Ramakrishna many things of spiritual significance were talked about. Sri Ramakrishna advised them on matters of realizing God while still engaged in their profession. To Dr. Rakhal, Sri Ramakrishna spoke of the need of leading the life with dignity and alertness; but held that this is possible only through the awakening of spiritual consciousness. He also advised that 'Truthfulness is the Tapasya of the Kaliyuga', and, 'Truthfulness, submission to God, and looking at other women as one's own mother are the means to realize God.' For Sri Ramakrishna physician was Narayana Himself; and he indirectly advised Dr. Rakhal to honour everybody as such. To Dr. Rudra, Sri Ramakrishna narrated the incidence in his life where it was impossible for him to store anything or tell a lie. He also told the doctor the importance of intense yearning to realize God, like 'child's attraction for his mother, husband's attraction for the chaste wife, and the miser's attraction for the material wealth.' dr c s shah -- ==================================== E-magazine on science and spirituality.
