Dear friends,

The spark of holiness, purity, and divinity present in every human

heart coalesces to take a concrete shape as a divine person in every

religion, in all chime and clime.

Such great scientists of spirituality show the path of further progress

in human intellect and evolution. They are the embodiments of the

aspirations of millions; aspirations to manifest divinity within,

aspiration to get liberated!

Sri Ramakrishna was one such embodiment of devotion, holiness, and

divine knowledge. It was expected that he would form a sect, or a sect

would be formed after him, but his greatness was such that his

universality set a new trend in the spiritual history of mankind. In

stead of generating a new set of religious dogma, his catholicity and

broadness of teachings encompassed all the past, present, and future

religious doctrines into one One Universal Religion.

Born a small village of Kamarpukur in West Bengal province of India -

1836, he showed the path of God Realization to each and everyone

according to his or her aptitude and capacity. By intense spiritual

practices, involving not only Hindu traditions, but also Islam and

Christianity, he showed to the world that all these paths lead to the

same result, viz. Experience of Superconscious State. He demonstrated

the existence of superconscious state as the goal and destiny of every

human being. He used to go into an altered state of Consciousness known

as Samadhi as a culmination of various spiritual disciplines.

During these attempts, real knowledge of unity of existence and unity

amongst diversity dawns in the heart of spiritual aspirant. The person

directly realizes the presence of same divinity as the true nature of

himself/herself, as well as of all other beings. The feeling of

separateness between man and man is due to our ignorance of our true

nature, which is Divinity - God - Brahman.

Once this ignorance vanishes with intense spiritual practice and

thereby control of mind and its modifications, the Reality, the Blissful

Truth, manifests in the heart of the seeker of the TRUTH.

This can be achieved by various means at the disposal of human beings:

namely, by devotion and love towards God, discrimination and

renunciation, Yoga and Meditation, and/or by undertaking work as

worship.

The values of compassion, truthfulness, altruism, dispassion, and like

are the natural by-products of such attempts to seek Truth.

Sri Ramakrishna emphasized and established that " AS MANY FAITHS SO MANY

PATHS. " Every Religion is a means to reach the same God.

Swami Vivekananda, Ma Saradadevi, and other fifteen young energetic,

and sincere devotees accepted his first discipleship and worked to

spread his message.
