Guest guest
Dear Jay Since the day I d to the onelist, I had been reading every line of the AshtaVakra Gita (AVG), which you had been posting on the list. Most verses in the AVG related to the Description of the State of Realisation of a Jnani, i.e. embodied the 'Ajaatha' Siddhantha. This state does not admit of any duality of any kind, not even as a matter of practical fact, i.e. as a 'Vyavahaarika Sathyaa'. Such verses serve the purpose of inspiring us to do the Vedantic Saadhanaa, giving us in detail the Glories of the State of Realisation, promised to be experienced by us, by virtue of our Vedantic Saadhanaa. However, in such Vedaantic Texts, there will be verses, indicating the procedure of meditation or other mental processes to be followed by the Saadhakaa, to attain the final goal of Self-Realisation. These verses assume that the Self is not yet realised, and therefore admit of some kind of duality and on the basis of that supposed duality,-not even a trace of which, exists for a Jnani,-prescribe something that can be done to remove the delusion of not apprehending the ever-present Self. These verses are based on the 'Vivartha' Siddhantha. These verses indicate the 'practical' side of the Vedantic Saadhanaa. These will be very useful for spiritual aspirants pursuing Vedanthic Saadhanaa. Mr. Ramana Sarma, has requested Ashtavakra Gita to be posted again, since he d to the onelist recently. If you consider reposting the same, or any other similar Vedaantic Text, like say, AshtaVakra Samhitha, you may consider discriminating on the above lines, and grouping the verses that portray the 'Ajaatha Siddhantha' and the verses that detail the 'mental operations based on the 'Vivartha Siddhantha'. You may,- (a) post only one of these two groups of verses, or (b) post these two different groups of verses separately, or © if you post the verses in the order in which they appear in the text, you may show them as belonging to a particular group, for the convenience and clarity of understanding. Incidentally, the separate postings of the verses pertaining to the 'Vivartha Siddhantha', will enable the readers to understand clearly the Vedanthic Sadhanaa and practice accordingly, and gradually their thought processes will automatically be tuned to the 'Vedanthic Thought Process' set out in the 'Vaiseshika Shaasthraa', which is one of the pre-requisites before one begins to read the Vednathic Texts. The other pre-requisite is the 'Meta-physical Logic' set out in the 'Nyaaya Shaasthraa'. Kind regards.
