Guest guest
Dear Dr.Shah, Thank you very much for very useful information on breathing. Sri Ramana Maharshi used to suggest pranayama to those who are disturbed by thoughts in the sadhana. The source of breath and thought is the same and by controlling one, the other is automatically controlled. The simple pranayama, suggested by him,is observing one's own breathing which can be performed by anybody without the assistance of a trained teacher The effect of thoughts on the breathing can be felt by anybody who is in meditation for sometime when the pace of breathing comes down substantially with the control of thoughts regards Ramana Sarma
Guest guest
just thought of one other thing i would like to add to this discussion thread -- have noticed during moderately deep meditation the resources that even a single thought takes -- for example, if one's thoughts have calmed to a great degree, very little breath is required. Then if even a single thought arises, (not even a " disturbing " one, just a regular thought), and if one puts even a little energy into it (for example, for me a typical example is some problem i am trying to solve at work), one can see the need for breath and oxygen increase immediately. -- Karen venkata ramana sarma podury wrote: > venkata ramana sarma podury <RPodury > > Dear Dr.Shah, > > Thank you very much for very useful information on breathing. > Sri Ramana Maharshi used to suggest pranayama to those who are disturbed > by thoughts in the sadhana.
