i do not understand what you mean here...if you are saying that

procreation is a biological necessity, then i do beg to differ.

procreation and the children that we beget is entirely due to a need

within the mind. the need to love and the need to be loved is

entirely due to a distancing of our personality from the Infinite

COnsciousness...

 

there are certain needs like lust and the love of 'gold' that

cannot be extinguished by merely fulfilling them, for the more you

have of them the more you want of them.

We wrongly presume that it is OUR DUTY TO MAINTAIN HIS WORLD OR

Lust is in fact the trick mind-body complex plays!

My request for Edith to clarify clearly displays my incapacity

to understand what was said. Initially, I didn't see the relation

between the 'body/mind complex' & 'physical propagation of the race'. I

 

to Jairam's viewpoint and in my opinion, lust cannot be compared with

hunger

or thirst. Simply because, the latter is a NEED while the former

is a WANT. If you were to observe a baby, only the latter is present

but not the former. Therefore, the idea of lust has to be introduced

to the mind before it can even lust.

Everything said above, has the solid ring of TRUTH !

 

Let us take this one step further and imagine that the Supreme

Atman, sporting in the body, creates this phantasmagorian

pleasure palace in the mind...some call it 'fantasy'

 

AND this embodied Supreme Atman happens to love Itself very much.

However, when It observes another Supreme Atman walkng by

[in a nice looking package] ..... " fantasy " ensues.

 

" Fantasy " occasionally becomes reality. However, the embodied Supreme Atman is

not always easy to live with....then troubles come...

Bye the way, dearest ones, the word 'Lust' actaully means 'inordinate' or

excessive desire'

 

The attraction between embodied Supreme Atmans is a wonderful

state of affairs. Many excellent books have been written about it.

" Gone with the Wind " , by Margaret Mitchell and " Wuthering Heights " ,

by Emily Bronte, to name a couple.
