Guest guest
The Sermon on the Mount - 5 The Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-12) - Part 5 [ Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Peace - internal and external - is what everyone wants. It is for this peace that man goes to God. The mark of a God-realised person is his peace of mind, and his ability to spread this peace to others also. They are the real peacemakers. They are verily the children of God. [ Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs [ is the kingdom of heaven. [ Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall [ say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. [ Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for [ so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Ordinary people do not know the value of the spiritual people. Often spiritual aspirants have to face redicule by worldly people. There is no point in getting cross with them. They cannot understand the aspirations of the spiritual aspirant. Everyone evaluates other's actions from his own mental framework. So, it is natural for people to see spiritual aspirants do and think odd things. They react according to their own level of maturity. The only best thing to do will be to ignore them outwardly and pray for them inwardly. Socrates was given poison. Aristotle had to flee from Athens. Christ was nailed to the Cross. These are standing proofs of the attitute of the general public towards people with " different " aspirations. -- ---------- Email: gomu Phone: +91 80 6634617 Webpages: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/1863 http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Forum/2973 ----------
