Guest guest
Reply from Sw. Atmananda to Edith Hari om ! Here is the reply to the query sent to me : > >can you explain why he seems to be so irresistible to so many >different kinds of people? >Edith Four reasons : 1. What he represents is the ultimate which the Vedantic scriptures represent. 2. His abnormal form at once indicates existence of some supra-human power. 3. He is said to specialise in the elimination of obstacles, which every person has in abundance. 4. The rituals which help propitiation of his blessings are very simple & easy, which thus becomes very convenient for different devotees. Love & om, Swami Atmananda ---------- ---------------- I use Ganesh stories at many of my meetings with very young English children. They adore him and his stories. But the stories I have told are not in any of the purans. Edith, I cannot help but add what Sri Ramakrishna said about Ganesh. " Ganesh - The valiant son of the mother goddess who stayed celibate. How could he marry? His mammy had told him it is his mammy who lives in all female forms " . I would ask the little ones 'Would you marry your mammy?? jay ------------
