Guest guest
One of the hallmarks about Hinduism is its simplicity. But I have seen a few swamijis wear rich (almost like silk) robes. I do not want to name them and create a controversy as the purpose of my query is only for the sake of knowledge. I just want to know if its not wrong for swamijis to wear such clothes. R. Guest guest
Dear friends, Sri Ramakrishna said, " You can spend huge money on luxuries, but if a sadhu asks for a few annas for his smoke, he is said to have luxury of smoking pipe!!! " Such minor considerations of clothes and food of sanyasins should bother us, its a pity. We fail to see their spirituality that should be the touchstone to judge them. Once Swami Brahmananda and his company had a good laugh when a newcomer was waiting to see him. On hearing his huge laughter the newcomer said, " What a pity. The sadhu is laughing like an ordinary person. He should be sober. There is no point in meeting him. " When Swami Brahmananda came to know this, he said, " Good riddance, we don't want such superficial fellows to judge us. Guest guest
I have seen swamiji's using only Mercedes benz or BMW and now Lexus. If you want to bow down your head to someone are parents, grand parents, small children, and Lord Rama or Krishna and other saints. Not the Swamijis who after the worldy matters. Guest guest
I dunno whether it's bad to have a mercedes or not. But i guess Lord Shree Ram n Lord Shree Krishna enjoyed all the luxuries. We should be able look in to the Swami rather then his Mercedes. Go n seek knowledge from him. If he is false he won't be able to give u n if he is true one he will show u the Lord. On Wed, 22 Sep 1999, MAHESH LAD wrote: > I have seen swamiji's using only Mercedes benz or BMW and now Lexus. Guest guest
How one can think the so called Swami, who himself has not got rid of the worldy matters can guide a man who is full of lust and money minded. Most of the swami followers seek money and worldy happiness and for that seek the asirvad, Blessings of the swamis or may be to show ones superiority. I have not seen many swami visiting the poors and the downtrodden. Most of them want to visit Europe.America and the african Countries where rich Indians are living. They make their own calendars'key chains, take movies at the functions with a big show and advertise their panth. Only the organisations like Ramakrishna Ashram not forgetting volunteers from RSS have helped people during earthquake, floods etc. Also, Hindus We are all divide and everybody hates each others religion. There was no communial harmoney nor there will be as long as we won't come out from these religeous beliefs. Well, its individuals thought and belief. Guest guest
Test those swamis whom u say r guilty. N if u find them so work towards removing the fault. True Spiritual Awakening won't come unless one's all desires r fulfilled. People spend their whole life going after some materailistic things. I think it's not bad if they can get it w/o wasting n destroying their entire life in getting it. Blessings of the Swamis r to fulfill there desires n also to show them the futility of the desires. It's a process of being taught. We all still have some or the other desires otherwise we would have realized Lord this very second. I guess we have calenders, key chains with pictures of Lord Shree Ramachandra. Then wat harm is there if the followers of one want to see him in everything. The words uttered by them r of great value. I guess u won't mind buying a video of Shree Krishna reciting Bhagvat Gitaa to Arjuna. U keep them as a memory , as a reference to look back. Their words have power their personality teaches a lot. Wat harm is there if people have the vidoes of their beloved teaching them the path to Lord. Every person in this world needs support at some time or the other in ones life. That time may be even more catastrophic for him then floods or earthquakes. We will find good n bad in everything. We have to take the good things n leave the bad ones or go abt correcting the bad ones. It's really very hard too judge a personality. But this much is there that evil or wrong can't stand for long. Guest guest
there is a story i heard somewhere about a saint. the saint was riding on a donkey that was decorated fancily. someone later criticized the saint for such a showy mount and he was surprised -- he had been so absorbed in God he did not notice he was riding at all! -karen Anurag Goel wrote: > I dunno whether it's bad to have a mercedes or not.
