Will the real Brahmin please step forward?

I took the meaning to be the same as that found in the Dhammapada in which

the question is asked; " Who is the true Bramana? " is answered many, many

times:

 

" He indeed is a Brahmana who fosters the Supreme Mind... "

 

- Dhammapada v 152

 

Of course the Lord Buddha Himself was of the Kshastriya caste as was the

Lord Mahavira.

 

To me one of the most inspiring books I've encountered on the general

subject was The God of Buddha by Jamshed Fozdar published in 1975 by the

Asia Publishing House of New York City in which Fozdar compares line for

line the teachings of Buddha with the Vedanta in the Bhagavad Gita, the

Upanishads and other scriptures... truly a must read...
