Guest guest
(translator - Swami Chetanananda) Truly the mind is like space; it seems to face in all directions; it seems to transcend everything; it seems to be everything. But in reality, the mind does not exist. (comments) Mind - According to the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, " Desire, resolve, doubt, faith, want of faith, steadiness, unsteadiness, shame, intelligence, and fear - all these are but the mind. Guest guest
Mind has a very close analogy with the computer. If senses are the peripherals-scanner, keyboard etc.-intelligence is the processor, memory the hard-disk and the thinking mind is the space (RAM or Random Access Memory) where the software of thought with all its utilities-feelings, reasoning, values, habits-interfaces between the peripherals and the processor. The concious entity watches whatever goes on in the mind with the help of a feedback system like the Monitor, and remember, monitor is only a peripheral. - <FREESUE <Ramakrishna >; <Vivekananda Tuesday, September 28, 1999 4:55 AM [ramakrishna] Avadhuta - Chapter 1 verse 9 > FREESUE > > (translator - Swami Chetanananda) > > Truly the mind is like space; it seems to face in all directions; it seems to > transcend everything; it seems to be everything.
