Mass n photon

Jay i was thinking that a photon has both a wave as well as particle

nature then sudely i remembered that any object too has a wavelet n hence

a wave nature. If i am right such was shown or proposed by De-broglie.

Doesn't it sound interesting both matter n photon having sort of same

natures. Can we say we don't even wat excatly is matter or mass.

Response:-

Photon has a dual nature - it is both a particle and a wave at the same time.

This is not just a matter of mathematical conjecture. Nor is due to any

temporary limitation we face in observing the universe. It is the way things

are. Photon is both a wave and a particle. There is something strange about this

particle though - it has no rest-mass. You can never bring it to rest - you

can't even slow it down or catch up with it.

Other elementary particles like electrons also possess a dual nature and act as

waves and can produce diffraction patterns like any other wave. But these

particles can never (repeat never) travel at the speed of light. The other

major difference being these other particles have a rest-mass (mass measured

when they come to rest) while photon just does not come to rest and has no rest

mass. And yet it has to be regarded as a particle!

There is a whole lot very interesting things in Physics today. Can these

wondrous things have anything (even remotely) to do with spirituality? We

wonder.
