Keep your eyes and ears open

When Sri Ramakrishna was in Dakshineswar, he once related how he was

desperate for a message from the Mother. He saw a dog, and went near it and

waited to see if the Mother said something to him through the animal.

The fact is God speaks to us throughout the day; He also shows us

ways/solutions which we might adopt for our own good. Only, most of the time

we are unable to recognise His speech or dismiss it in our obsession with

ourselves. We can only strive to keep our eyes and ears wide open if we wish

to benefit.

It requires constant practice. Aspirants may read Brother Lawrence's

experiences as he cultivated the presence of God.
