Once Rakhal has massaging Gurudev's legs with oil. At that time he asked

Gurudev to grant him the power of having divine visions. But Gurudev

pretended as if he did not hear anything. Rakhal repeated his request many

times. Suddenly, Gurudev told Rakhal something rudely. On hearing this,

Rakhal became sad and angry. He threw away the oil container and ran from

that place. But on reaching the temple gate, his legs became senseless. He

could not move his legs. Not knowing what to do, just sat on the road.

In between Ramakrishna sent Ramlal to console Rakhal and bring him back.

Rakhal came back to Ramakrishna walking slowly. Then Gurudev smilingly

said, " Did you understand now that you cannot go beyond my influence.? " .

Rakhal did not say anything. After sometime, SriRamakrishna was in

spiritual ectasy. He talked to mother, " O Mother!, I know that you have

given one-sixteenth of your power to Rakhal. That power would be of

immense help to the mankind. " . Then he told Rakhal, " You are angry with

me. You have to believe that God has a form. You have to believe that you

can see him with your own eyes. Control your mind. God will appear before

you. " .

This advice was given to Rakhal, because Rakhal was in Brahma Samaj for

sometime and he did not believe in idol worship. He believed only in

formless god.
