We share a message received from:

Professional Council for Religious Education (REFIT project)

quote:-

" It is a great pleasure to offer the congratulations of all of the members

of this group to the students of the Vivekananda Centre as they celebrate

their examination successes. This is also an opportunity to offer our

sincere thanks to the Vivekananda Centre for the support it has given to all

students in the UK studying Hinduism, from young primary school children to

examination candidates, through the excellent resources it has created and

made freely available on its website. The Vivekananda Centre is amongst the

first of UK faith communities to produce Internet based resources

specifically tailored to support religious education in schools. It is also

amongst the first to recognise the importance of direct communication for

religious understanding and how technologies such as the Internet can bring

people of all kinds of backgrounds and locations into contact with each

other. Now, through the website, children from areas of the country where

there are no Hindus,. for the first time have a chance to speak to Hindus,

ask questions and discuss ideas using email. Not surprisingly the

Vivekanada Centre is also looking to the future and considering how it can

work with others to develop the potential of ICT to support dialogue between

people of all faiths and better understanding of living religion in this

country. For all these endeavours we offer our gratitude and warmest wishes

for continued success " .
