Hmmm... that could be the case. Yet it's hard to separate the ego and the mind (when I say the mind, I usually refer to thought, to that faculty that endlessly divides everything into more and more categories, and consequently sees more and more separation). >I know many folks who HATE to argue with anyone. Hate to argue; love to argue; the same! :-)... The capacity to " hate " anything is the same as the capacity to enjoy. Yet how many people do you know that neither hate to argue nor love to argue, but simply see the views of others with dispassion and pure equality, never saying " I agree with this " or " I disagree with this? " > Loving to argue is a personality trait in some, not so in others... Yes, I think that's true, but in essence the mind cannot see beyond dualities, and so there's a general tendency toward argumentation or disagreement in *some* form or another. That's how wars get started. Guest guest
The problem probably arises not from the tendency to argue but from the failure to reason with a good spirit. - Tim Gerchmez <core1 <Ramakrishna > Friday, November 19, 1999 10:34 PM [ramakrishna] Freesue/Re: Digest Number 264 > Tim Gerchmez <core1 > > At 06:58 PM 11/18/99 EST, you wrote: > >FREESUE > > ><<That's the essential problem - that disagreement is the basic nature of > the > >mind and ego, which see only dualities.
