Thank you all...Madhava, Anurag Goel, and Jairam Seshaadri, for your

complimentary comments on my poem " God's Eyes " . When one writes a poem one

seldom thinks of how it will be received. You simply attempt to put down on

paper your observations, feelings, experiences. When those touch someone

else it is always a surprise to me.

To answer Jairam's question as to whether or not I have seen " those eye's " .

Yes. However, I must say that my inspiration was two-fold. Firstly, I was

attempting to discribe the eye's of my teacher and after having wrote the

poem, a few days later, there was a picture of a homeless man in our local

newspaper. They were doing a piece on homeless people in our area. The

story told how this man had left his job and family and was now living among

the homeless because he continuously heard voices and saw visions. His face

and his eye's were those of one who had definitely touched god.

Unfortunately, here in the West, such souls are viewed as crazy, insane. I

tried for several days to find this man, but to no avail.

That was a very moving experience of yours. Your poem touched a chord in my

heart too. I came to New York city a few months back for some training on

Wall Street, wondering what would happen to my sadhana when I am here. But,

I found one such person here too, with those eyes. For those who maybe able

to make it to New York sometime, this person's name is Dennis Hartel. His

address is

Arunachala Ashrama

Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi Center

66-12, Clyde Street,

Rego Park, New York

I am so grateful for having the oppurtunity to stay in New York and see him.

I go there every weekend.

Sometimes total strangers touch us more than those who we have known many

years. I'm curious....if it's not too personal to ask...a Swami taking

training on Wall Street????? This does not compute..<BG>

LOL! Sue, that was a real nice one. I am not a sanyasi formally. Its just

that my name is Swami. Actually, my name is Swaminathan. Everybody calls me

Swami.

I am an engineer and an MBA. I am currently working on Wall Street as a

financial analyst.

I hardly find people compatible with my interests at work. So, this list is

a real blessing for me. I read all mails in the morning before beginning

work. It's like a daily morning health tonic.
