You can reply directly or via the list. I would think that the passages on Dharma and Karma Yoga would cover this ground although I cannot exactly say where there are at in the book right now! I will have to look at it later. Essentially it is not a matter of fate or existence being predetermined or anything like that. Rather, it's more like you cam from the ALL (our Universe) and have an existence in accord with that Universe. Follow your will i.e. whatever it is you consider your duty, as best you can. Things will work best for you this way, otherwise the universe will crush you under it's weight! I may be wording this a bit abstractly, but it is the basic gist of the matter. The Bhagavad-Gita of course words it all very poetically and with beauty! The goal of Karma Yoga is to diligently follow ones path eliminating desire and fear because both get in the way. Once you are perfectly yourself and at harmony with all things you become like a force of nature. To reach this state would be something like destiny, but vary greatly with each individual because we are all essentially different beings. Guest guest
Namaste Menna, It means to live with a clear mind, in the moment, free from thought and expectation. It is the same as the deep meditative state only with eyes open and movement. It is usually attained gradually thru spiritual practice and grace although it may come fully at any moment. Guest guest
hi, you cant have a better description than the BIG "Bhagavdgeetha" itself. People should understand the concept of being detached...doesnt mean that you have to leave everything .... You shoudnt give to much of priority to world gaities or watever it is...at the same time you need to do your duties...and instead of keeping too much faith in people...keep 1/10th of that towards god...! he'l(God) come 10 steps ahead to tell you wat is detachment....so that you get attached to him !Vivekananda Centre <vivekananda wrote: - MennaLloyd hindu Tuesday, October 04, 2005 7:45 PM bhagavad-gita Hi, Is there a description or explanation of what it means to 'live in a detached way'?
