Guest guest
~~~~~~ om shanthi om~~~~~~ Excerpted from the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna p.155 Wednesday 22/12/99 The Master Said: " Householders are like silk-worms. They can come out of the cocoon of their worldly life if they wish. But they can't bear to; for they themselves have built the cocoon with great love and care. So they die there. Or they are like the fish in a trap They can come out of it by the way they entered, but they sport inside the trap with other fish and hear the sweet sound of the murmuring water and forget everything else. They don't even make an effort to free themselves from the trap. The lisping of children is the murmur of the water, and the other fish are relatives and friends. Only one or two make good their escape by running away. They are the liberated souls. S' ils souhaitent, Ils peuvent sortir du cocon de leur vie mondaine. Mais ils ne peuvent pas le soutenir; pour eux, eux-memes ont construit le cocon avec le grands amour et le soin. Ainsi ils meurent la. Ou ils sont comme les poissons dans un piege qu'ils peuvent sortir de lui d'ailleurs ils sont entre, mais ils folatrent a l'interieur du piege avec d'autres poissons et entendent le bruit doux de l'eau murmurant et oublient tout autrement. Ils ne font pas meme un effort de se liberer du piege. La blesite des enfants est le murmure de l'eau, et les autres poissons sont des parents et des amis. Seulement un ou deux reparer leur evasion en executant loin. Ils sont les ames liberees. Does one give up a gem dropped in the dirt? (comments) Guru - Gu means darkness or ignorance, ru means destroyer. He who destroys ignorance is the guru. Young - Spirituality cannot be measured by age alone. Children may be more spiritually-minded than their parents. Enjoyer of worldly pleasures - An illumined soul is not contaminated by anything. Apparently he may be engaged in worldly pursuits due to prarabdha, or the momentum of his past action, but that does not affect his knowledge. Illiterate - Illumination does not depend on the study of the scriptures. Vivekananda Centre Site http://www.btinternet.com/~vivekananda Comment: That is very nice, Jay. Sri Ramakrishna also said: " Although my Guru visits the grog shop, to me he is still the embodiment of Satchitananda " [inexact quote] +om ____ 123India - India's Premier Search Engine Get your Free Email Account at http://www.123india.com
