Excerpted from the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna p.162

Thursday 6/1/00

The Master Said:

" God is realized by following the path of truth.

One should always chant His name.

Even while one is performing one's duties,

the mind should be left with God.

Suppose I have a carbuncle on my back.

I perform my duties,

but the mind is drawn to the carbuncle. "

Le Maitre Dit:

" On peut realise le Dieu en suivant

le chemin de la verite.

On devrait toujours chanter son nom.

Meme tandis qu'on execute ses devoirs,

l'esprit devrait etre laisse avec

Le Dieu. Supposez que j'ai un furoncle

sur mon dos. J'execute mes devoirs,

mais l'esprit est entraine par le furoncle. "

Re: Swami Ramatirtha

Dear Jay,

After another visit to the Swami Ramatirtha site,

I came up with the following quote:

C. F. Andrews

(‘Desh-Bandhu’ as he was called in India and a missionary.)

" ..... Another personality, in many ways far more attractive

than that of Swami Vivekanand, carried the same movement of new Vedanta ..... "

This is on the page entitled: " How Eminent Saints and the Press Saw Rama "

" Far more attractive " than Sri Swami Vivekananda ?
