Guest guest
- Prashanth Rao vivekananda Monday, June 18, 2001 07:22 Address Hi, I am interested in visiting the Vivekananda Centre/ RK mission in London. I would be grateful if you could provide me with the address and telephone number of the above. Thank you. Regards Prashanth ========= Dear Prashanth Ref: Visiting Vivekananda Centre London We get such requests from time to time. Let me brief you about the Vivekananda Centre London. We are a non-commercial non-sectarian body run by a few well wishers. We do not operate from any special building and have no shrine. Our activities are educational and are conducted mainly at schools, colleges and other public venues. We run classes at many locations - normally at a school or a local temple. If you wish to visit a shrine then we suggest you visit the Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre which is at Blind Lane, Bourne End, Buckinghamshire Telelphone 016285 26464. The Vedanta Centre has a bookshop with a good selection of books on Vedanta. The Swamis of the Ramakrishna order give talks every Sunday either at the Centre or at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Castletown Road London W11. Details of the talks can be obtained by writing to the Vedanta Centre or by phoning them. They also have retreats - two or three times a year. You may be able to stay at the Centre during the retreat. They also have celebrations and worship ceremonies on the birthdates of Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda, Holy Mother. Once the website of the Vedanta Centre becomes operational we will arrange a link to it from our home page at http://www.vivekananda.btinternet.co.uk/home.htm making it easy for anyone wishing to get details of the activities at the Vedanta Centre. regards jay Vivekananda Centre London
