Guest guest
I have come in late on the Dvaita/Advaita discussion but am surprised to even see a suggestion that one is greater than the other. Might we all remember Ramakrishna's example of an infinite expanse of water, some of which in places has been frozen into ice. Just so, he says, under the cooling influence of the bhakta's love, the Infinite appears to take a form, but again the ice melts when the sun rises; one who follows the path of knowledge, the path of discrimination, does not see the form of God any more, to him everything is formless. But mark this, he says and I wish to stress in the case of this discussion, form and formlessness belong to one and the same Reality. (Nikhilananda Gospel p. 370:d) Swami Prabhavananda who started the Southern California Vedanta Society used to say that Christ, Krishna, Buddha, Mohammed, Ramakrishna would all get along famously if you put them in a room together -- but their disciples might fight each other to the death! Wwe must remember that Personal God does not only mean Avatar or God-man, but Attributes. The Infinite cannot be described -- is Silence itself: Existence-Consciousness-Bliss. Perhaps I am not speaking to the discussion you were having... edtipple
