Guest guest
Dear friends, It was my blessed fortune to have attended the consecration ceremony of 'Universal Temple' dedicated to Sri Ramakrishna at Chennai -Madras - India. It was a great spiritually elevating occasion where 300-400 Swamis and 30000 to 40000 devotees from all all over India and abroad had gathered together. I was there for three days. * I welcome many new members with a healthy attitude and hunger to know the meaning of advaita vedanta. Unfortunately the term Advaita can (and shall) never be explained to anyone's satisfaction. It is an experience and and not the matter or topic for discussion or intellectual comprehension. It is beyond language and words. Only a few persons - rishis, sages, avatar purushas, prophets - who have had glimpses or full realization can and do attempt to put such experiences in the language that closely approximates the Truth. Still, their words are inadequate to explain the Reality. Only thing is that their words have somewhat more authority and authenticity than we persons who never have had such transcendental experiences. Therefore, one should be humble in approaching the subject of Advaita Vedanta. One should try to sharpen the reason by various spiritual disciplines and austerities so that we may be able to go beyond the reason itself to know the truths of advaita as a direct experience which now stands on its own leg of experience.
