Bhishma Pitaamaha

Dear friends my Pujya Gurudev was here for a Sadhana Shivir. There

something interesting was told abt Bhishma Pitaamaah. I may not be able to

put the words with their original feelings but let me write watever i am

able to recollect.

 

 

When Bhishma Pitaamaah was struck down by the arrows was lying in pain on

the thorn bed. He thought that wat did i do because i have to suffer from

such a pain. Bhishma Pitaamaah layed there waiting for Lord Shree Krishna

to arrive. When Lord came he asked him O! Holy one i have lived all my my

life in piousness then why i am being made to suffer from such a death.

Lord said yes u have been living a life of piousness in this life and it's

true that we suffer according to our past deeds. Lord says Bhishma your

kundalini is awakenend then why don't u see your past birth for urself.

 

Bhishma Pitaamaah closes his eyes and sees through his past birth but

he was not able to found a sin that can become the reason for such a

dreadful n painful situation. He experesses this to Lord , lord says fine

and asks him to see through his other past births too. Bhishma Pitaamaha

looks through his past seven births and then stops.

 

He says lord you only tell me which sin did i commit. Lord then says you

committed the sins in ur past 22nd birth. He let him see all his palm. He

told him at that time u were the king of Vidarbha. You had the habit of

strolling down the garden side and after your stroll a huge snake which

used to live in the garden used to come out roam about freely. But one day

it so happened that you got late and both of u met on the way. As soon as

u saw him u took a spear from a soldier and attacked with it on his head

and threw him high in air. It so happened that the snake a landed on the

bush full of thorns. His whole body lied there pierced with thorns. the

snake suffered for 90 minutes before the death. As soon as Bhishma

Pitaamah saw this he said crying O! lord please stop i know wat a dreadful

sin i committed. There was no mistake from the snake side and i killed the

innocent one.
