Guest guest
Adam and Eve were thrown out of the Garden of Eden because they became aware of Good and Evil. In other words they now had SPACE in which to view good and evil. Good and evil may be regarded as the two ends of a gradient scale. One end tends toward greater and greater good, the other end towards greater and greater evil. Of course, the absolute good and the absolute evil are unattainable in this universe. This scale would then represent the DIMENSION of Good and Evil. As one establishes a viewpoint in this dimension, one now has the space and awareness in which to view and evaluate goodness and badness of things. Thus, space is a viewpoint of dimension. It comes about as a dimension is created, and as one establishes a viewpoint in a dimension. It has been known for some time that in order to understand Space and Time fully, Physics would have to enter the field of Mind. This is true because the physical Space is a special case of the above general reality of space. This physical universe is simply that point where all our individual universes meet. Remember those daydreams! Those were your incursions into your own personal universes. Each one of us has our own universe where we escape to from time to time. Now an overlap of all these personal universes is what we call the physical universe. A physical universe is the point where we are agreeing with each other heavily. This agreement is so heavy that anyone who dares to disagree gets locked up in a mental asylum by the rest of us. We find the physical universe very much there and unyielding. In other words, the physical universe is quite " solid. " This " solidity " is based on nothing else but our own agreements. When we picture an apple in our mind that picture of an apple is not that solid. But when we see an apple sitting on a table, and everyone else sees it too, then that " picture " of an apple is quite solid. So, what is physical Space? It is made up of dimensions that we are agreeing upon heavily. We want to keep it that way because it provides us with some prediction and we feel secure. Now when we think of moving beyond the known and agreed upon spaces, we feel confused and insecure. So, we have to establish agreements, as we move beyond the known spaces, otherwise it all appears delusory. These are some introductory ideas that may serve as the basis for a discussion. I am not quite sure what may come out of this discussion, but it is a start anyway. What is presented here is a glimpse of a possibly broader concept of space, of which the physical Space is only a special case. Comments?
