Chapter 2, Verse 18:

Swami Chetanananda

One can think of the formless, and a form can be visualized. But Brahman

is neither being nor nonbeing. It can be termed the Innermost One.

Swami Ashokananda

That which has form is visible to the eye, while the formless is

perceived mentally. That (the Self), being beyond existence and

non-existence, is called intermediate.

Note: Intermediate - neither material nor mental, i.e. beyond both.

When one thinks of Brahman, one is NOT perceiving Brahman.

One is only perceiving one's own considerations about Brahman.

Brahman is THAT who is doing the perceiving.
