Chapter II, Verse 19

 

Swami Chetanananda

The outer manifestation is this universe, and the inner manifestation is

called prakriti, or maya. Realize Brahman, which is said to be the

innermost of the inner -- like water (milk) within the kernel of the

coconut.

 

Swami Ashokananda

The external existence is the universe, the inner existence is called

prakriti. One should try to know That which is more interior than the

inner existence, That which is like water within the kernel of the

coconut.

Note: Prakriti -- in its subtle spects: cosmic intelligence, cosmic

mind, etc.
