The only prerequisite would be that the valid scriptures should be made available for study. I think that Swamiji is simply exposing the false idea that one can gain from religion by superficially talking about it. He is emphasizing that true religion is the application of those truths to one's being. But there is nothing wrong with sharing how one applied the truth and arrived at some insight. That is Satsang.
