Guest guest
Dear M.O. Mallik A great soul, Srimat Swami Lokeswaranandaji Maharaj, of Ramakrishna Mission Cultural Institute at Gol Park in Calcutta, is no longer with us in his earthly body. He passed away on December 31st, 1998. You mentioned that Swamiji was from Narendrapur. At the time of his death he was at Gol Park. He was the founder of Narendrapur educational institutions, schools, college, blind boys academy, loka siksha parisad, all well known in India if not in the world. He started in a small village in 24- Parganas in West Bengal with few acres of land in 1956. Now Narendrapur is a well known educational center. He was asked to take the charge of Gol Park by the Head Quarter at Belur Math in 1973. Ever since he was there till the last day of 1998. Before he started to build Narendrapur he was in charge of a small students' home in north Calcutta at Judulal Mallick Road. I am fortunate enough to be accepted by this great soul to stay at the students' home while I was a student at Presidency college in Calcutta. To be under the kind leadership and guidance of Swami Lokeswaranandaji Maharaj is something else in any body's life and so it is in my life. Yes, M. O. Mallik, I know in Narendrapur by this time few scholarship endowments have been already instituted in the name of Swami Lokeswaranandaji Maharaj. If some body in your community is trying to raise funds to institute a scholarship endowment in Narendrapur, he must be either an ex student of Narendrapur or a devotee of Ramakrishna Mission who knows Swami Lokeswaranandaji very well. He will be a genuine person. There should not be any concern about the legitimacy of any effort of the fund raiser. If you want to know more about Swami Lokeswaranandaji Maharaj, please contact me at 301-927-6393 or e-mail me at unopank or write to me at 3404 Upshur Street, Brentwood, MD. 20722. I shall try to answer your questions. Sri Ramakrishna, Sarada Ma and Swamiji may bless you and all members of your family. I apologize for addressing you as M.O. Mallik since there was no indication whether it was he or she. Please forgive me. If you wrote your full name, I could address you more politely. With regards.
