Chapter Two, Verse 40:

Swami Chetanananda

The mind is unable to grasp Brahman, and speech is unable to express It

-- what to speak of the instruction of the guru. Indeed, Brahman is

entirely revealed unto him who has assimilated the instruction of the

guru who declared that Truth.

Swami Ashokananda

Where mind and speech can utter nothing, how can there be instruction by

a teacher? To the teacher -- ever united with Brahman -- who has said

these words, the homogeneous Truth shines out.

Here ends the second chapter of the AVADHUTA GITA of Dattatreya entitled

" Self-Knowledge.
