Guest guest
TO THE WOMEN OF INDIA Swamiji had very high regard for the women of India. sita and Savitri were his ideals. His adoration found its fullest expression in the supreme reverence and devotion which he showed to the Holy Mother, Sri Sarada Devi. Her words were the ultimate in everything. Even after he made all arrangements to go to America he waited for her final words of approval and benediction. His message to the women of India was the same as for men, that is, to be educated and come out in full strength and confidence, to solve their problems themselves. As his personal contribution, he brought his beloved disciple Sister Nivedita to India and made her start her a school for girls. Though at the time of his death it was just in its infancy, today it has acquired name and fame as the Nivedita school. His dream of starting a Mission for women also was realised in 1953, when the Ramakrishna Sarada Math and Mission were launched coinciding with the birth-centenary of Mother Sarda Devi. With hundreds of dedicated women this Organisation is also establishing and furthering the great ideals of Sri Ramakrishna, the Holy Mother and Swami Vivekananda in our society and also outside.
